Role: Senior Java Developer/Lead Hybrid Fulltime

Title: AVP/VP

Location: NYC (Day 1 Onsite/Hybrid)

Mode of Work: 3 days/week onsite required

Your required skills: 8-15 Years Required

Skills:

• Expert level Java software engineering

  • Ability to deliver software based on deadlines

  • Strong development experience with Core Java/J2EE, Spark, Data Structures & Algorithms. AWS, Kubernetes, AWS Lamda, Python

  • Strong development experience with Java frameworks like Spring. Hibernate, Spring boot.

  • Trading platforms or Post Trading Applications experience OR Prime Brokerage/ Equity Swaps domain, securities/pricing domain knowledge is a plus

  • Ability to work in an agile software delivery method

  • Experience with JavaScript and Angular, React Frameworks

  • Expert in test driven development

  • Having worked in a commodity trading environment would be desirable and advantageous

  • Experience with continuous integration Jenkins / Hudson

  • Familiarity with Git, IntelliJ, Eclipse, Sonar, Crucible, TeamCity, JIRA and the Atlassian tool set

  • Able to lead and mentor more junior members of the development community

  • Strong academic background excellent degree from a top tier university is required in a subject that demonstrates the need for logical thinking.

  • Exposure to Linux, Solaris and Windows operating systems

  • Expert level SQL development

  • JDBC expertise

  • Hands on experience in building web applications/components using Java, Spring/MVC, Hibernate

  • Good experience in building RESTful services using SOA architecture or any similar framework via API gateways.

  • Working experience of latest UI/JavaScript frameworks including NodeJS, AngularJS and HTML5

  • Ability to build responsive / user-friendly single-page web applications

  • Strong experience in working on RDBMS technologies like Oracle or SQL Server and familiarity with

Key Responsibilities:

Partnering with the Solution Architecture team, Business Analysts and QA teams to deliver quality engineered software.

Ensuring adherence governance as set out by Architecture and Engineering teams

Ensure compliance with standard tooling and software evaluation process

Engage with the QA teams to ensure functional and non-functional testing is addressed

Ensure software can be characterised in conjunction with business NFRs

Ensure all software is unit tested
