McKendree University invites applicants for the position of Education Program Coordinator within the School of Education. We seek a detail-oriented and organized individual to manage the administrative and operational functions that support our education programs. This position plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of field placements, student teaching, and licensure processes, contributing directly to the success of our students and programs. This is a full-time, benefit eligible position located in Lebanon, Illinois. The start date for this position is January 6, 2025.
Primary Duties And Responsibilities
Office environment; 40 hours per week; normally 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.; occasional evening meetings; attendance at regional and state meetings, as required, for accreditation and licensure needs.

- Maintain student files, field placement records, and evaluations.
- Secure field and student teaching placements in collaboration with program directors.
- Ensure students in field experiences meet minimum qualifications.
- Serve as the School Licensure Officer and attend annual Illinois licensure training.
- Monitor and maintain state qualifications for licensure.
- Communicate directly with Illinois preparation staff and assist with state reporting.
- Evaluate transcripts of incoming graduate students.
- Maintain accreditation-related documents required for teacher education.
- Record and maintain state testing data for all education candidates.
- Collaborate with the Director of Teacher Education, Program Directors, and Academic Advisor to monitor student progress.
- Administer grant documentation and data for the School of Education.
- Perform clerical duties as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Adobe Acrobat Pro, and OneDrive.
- Strong organizational skills and time-management abilities.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
- Clerical experience.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Bachelor or Master’s degree in Education
- Current or previous teacher license.
- 3 years of experience in a K-12 school setting.
- Understanding of the Illinois teacher licensure system or teaching experience.
