The Powertrain Manufacturing Engineer will develop and sustain manufacturing processes for Powertrain manufacturing lines, with a focus on Power Electronics. This role involves enhancing production efficiency, tracking First Pass Yield (FPY), monitoring error-proofing systems, and defining process parameters (soldering, dispensing, and torquing). Additionally, the engineer will be responsible for End-of-Line Testing (EOLT), driving cycle time improvements, and getting involved in the design and approval of upcoming projects and equipment. The engineer will work closely with the engineering team to reduce variation and ensure high-quality output. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the production of world-class vehicles by working collaboratively across multiple disciplines.

You will:

Lead technical efforts in sustaining and optimizing Powertrain manufacturing processes, particularly in Power Electronics.

Track and improve First Pass Yield (FPY) and monitor error-proofing systems for the Powertrain production line.

Optimize soldering parameters to ensure high-quality production outcomes.

Manage and optimize dispense systems and torque controllers to enhance process reliability.

Oversee and ensure the accuracy and reliability of End-of-Line Testing.

Drive cycle time improvements to enhance production efficiency and throughput.

Get involved in the design and approval of upcoming projects and equipment to ensure they meet production needs.

Reduce variation, ensuring consistent and reliable quality control.

Work collaboratively with the engineering team to implement process improvements and support product design changes.

Utilize problem-solving skills, including 8D, Six Sigma, DOE, or similar methodologies, to address and resolve production challenges.

Support layout engineering in optimizing Powertrain line layouts for maximum efficiency.

Work with various equipment, including robotics, end-of-arm tooling, pick and place automation, vision systems, dispense systems, torque controllers, and more.

You Bring:

Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related field.

3-5 years of experience in Powertrain Equipment/Manufacturing/Process Engineering.

Experience in automotive Powertrain equipment design and sustaining is essential.

Familiarity with High Voltage Systems and standard electronics lab tools, including multimeters, data acquisition, and wiring schematics, is a plus.

Knowledge of IPC-A-610 and IPC-J-STD-001 standards is advantageous.

Strong presentation skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally at various levels, both inside and outside the company.

Proficiency in AutoCAD, Catia, and Delmia is required.

Proven experience in driving cycle time improvements in manufacturing processes.

Involvement in the design and approval process for new projects and equipment.

Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time.

Flexibility to support any shift, including day, night, and swing shifts, as needed. Weekend and holiday work may be required.
