Project Manager (Citizen or Permanent Resident )

Project Manager position is a 16-18 Month project opportunity which is expected to be Remote. The preferred candidate will live on the East Coast of the United States and be expected to work EST hours.

Summary

We are seeking an experienced IT Project Manager for a 16-18 month contract to oversee a critical IT migration project. This role will be responsible for managing the migration of data and applications from local servers at 15 locations (5 in Canada and 10 in the US) to our central infrastructure. The project also involves upgrading network and security infrastructure. The successful candidate will need to coordinate with local teams, our IT vendor, and stakeholders, ensuring the project is delivered on time, within scope, and on budget.

Key Responsibilities

• Project Planning: Develop and manage a detailed project plan outlining the migration strategy, timelines, milestones, and resource requirements. Define project scope, goals, and deliverables.
• Execution & Coordination: Oversee the migration process, including the transfer of data and applications to the new infrastructure. Upgrade network and security systems to meet project requirements. Coordinate with local teams, IT vendors, and stakeholders to ensure smooth execution.
• Stakeholder Communication: Regularly update stakeholders on project status, including progress, risks, and issues. Facilitate communication between all parties involved to address concerns and ensure alignment.
• Risk & Issue Management: Identify potential risks and issues related to the project and develop mitigation strategies. Address and resolve issues promptly to avoid delays and ensure project success.
• Reporting: Prepare and present regular reports on project progress, budget status, and performance metrics. Ensure transparency and accountability throughout the project lifecycle.
• Quality Assurance: Ensure all project deliverables meet quality standards and adhere to best practices. Implement quality control measures to guarantee the success of the migration and infrastructure upgrade.
• Documentation: Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including project plans, status reports, risk logs, and meeting minutes. Ensure accurate and timely documentation for all project phases.

Qualified candidates would have the following:

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Project Management, or a related field. PMP, PRINCE2, or similar project management certification is preferred.
• Experience: Minimum of 5+ years of experience in IT project management, with a strong focus on cloud migration and infrastructure upgrades. Experience in the renewable energy sector, particularly with wind and solar assets, is highly desirable.
