The Senior Organizational Change Manager is a part of the Professional Services team and will report to the Director, Project Management Office.

Overview of Opportunity

The Senior Organizational Change Manager will perform in a true consultant capacity, playing a essential role in client-facing projects for the State of California in support of key initiatives. The primary responsibility will be creating, facilitating and implementing organizational change management strategies and plans that support the client’s strategic initiatives and helps achieve desired results and outcomes.

What You’ll Do

  • Create a Change Management Strategic Plan, identifying key stakeholders and setting clear goals for the strategic plan.
  • Create a Program-level Readiness Plan and checklist to support change management with the client.
  • Work with client to develop a uniform message on change for client organization, identify and address sources of resistance to change.
  • Create a Change Impact Assessment document which will assess how the change with the client impacts various aspects of the organization.
  • Provide coaching and support for organization members facing obstacles with change, work with stakeholders to build buy-in.
  • Serve as the key advisor to senior most leaders.
  • Produce documentation of the change process, including lessons learned, outcomes and challenges.
  • Provide regular reports to client leadership and stakeholders.
  • Provide continuous coaching to client leadership and stakeholders to ensure they understand their roles to drive change.
  • Participate in Agile Sprints, Retrospectives and Backlog reviews as needed.
  • Facilitate “whiteboard” sessions with stakeholders and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to define business processes.

About You (Requirements)

  • 8+ years of broad, extensive, and increasing responsibility in an Organizational Change Management role; 4 years of that in lead capacity.
  • Minimum 5 years project management experience (developing project schedule/workplan and managing project team); 3 years in lead capacity.
  • 3+ years FTE experience developing, facilitating and implementing an OCM plan for federal, state or local governments for Information Technology Projects (IT).
  • OCM Certification or designation required, such as Certified Change Management Professional (CCMP), Prosci Change Management Certification, Accelerating Implementation Methodology (AIM), Certified Problem and/or Change Manager Certification (CPCM).
  • Possess a bachelor’s degree; may be substituted for qualifying experience on a year-for-year basis.
  • Experience with Executive-Level coaching with the ability to give direct feedback to individuals at all levels.
  • Multi- discipline familiarity in project management, human centered design/behavioral design, adult learning, and design/communications.

  • Experience using OCM Modeling such as Prosci and ADKAR methodology.
  • Experience in a lead capacity in training staff in effecting change and providing tools to properly manage change in an organization.
  • Experience leading / delivering OCM Communication Plan services in federal, state or local government IT implementation projects.

Physical Requirements

  • Predominantly operates in an office environment in a stationary position.
  • Ability to operate standard office equipment such as computer, calculator, keyboard, mouse, and phone.
  • May occasionally bend, squat, and need to lift up to 20 pounds.

Compensation Range

$130,000 - $160,000 annual salary
