Type of Hire: Contract

The Role:

  • As a Senior IoT Systems Engineer, you will design and implement backend solutions using Rust for MQTT brokering, Historian, and Data Operations.
  • You will develop and maintain rules, schemas, and APIs to aggregate data, calculate KPIs, link data sources, and publish data as MQTT payloads.
  • Your work will also involve creating robust and scalable APIs to facilitate seamless data connectivity and management across the enterprise.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including front-end developers and business analysts, will be key to ensuring successful project delivery.
  • You will also be responsible for data management tasks such as creating efficient data aggregation processes and developing calculations and methodologies to accurately report key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Your role will be pivotal in ensuring the smooth deployment and management of IoT systems in complex environments.

What You ll Bring:

  • Education: Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Equivalent work experience will also be considered.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in backend development, with a focus on Rust or C programming languages.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in Rust and experience with system-level programming.
  • Basic understanding of MQTT protocol or brokering solutions.
  • Experience with historian systems or general data storage solutions.
  • Knowledge of API development and integration.
  • Familiarity with data aggregation and schema creation.
  • Experience with containerization and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes is a plus.
