The Tier 1 Support Specialist’s primary function is to provide technical support to IGF staff. Under the direction of the Director of Information Technology this position performs various technical tasks relating to configuration, installation, troubleshooting and general maintenance of computer systems, peripheral devices, and telecommunication devices. Position is primarily day shift; however, organizational requirements may demand work on evenings, nights, and weekends.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with IT staff performing software/hardware installations and computer maintenance
  • Answer requests for assistance by staff, regarding technical problems
  • Respond to technical requests for assistance with desktop computers, laptops, handheld scanners, and peripherals
  • Perform individual and group computer installations
  • Support Windows based operating systems and applications
  • Assist in maintaining technology inventory
  • Perform other duties as assigned. Special Assignments May be required to perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • Basic knowledge of the installation, operation and troubleshooting of Windows OS
  • Basic knowledge of component level hardware trouble shooting and repair
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills and ability to prepare accurate and detailed documentation
  • Experience using Microsoft Office
  • Basic understanding of network operations and design
  • Ability to use independent judgment, manage and prioritize multiple tasks and assignments, and work independently
  • Flexibility to work in a dynamic environment with multiple temperature zones
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service, including translate technical terminology into terms understood by management and employees

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience using Enterprise computer system deployment tools
  • Experience managing computers in active directory
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics
  • Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)
  • Experience with RF-Scanners

Experience:

Help Desk: 2 years (Required)

Windows: 2 years (Required)

Microsoft 365 Admin: 2 years (Required)

Active Directory: 1 year (Required)

Microsoft Dynamics: 1 year (Preferred)

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to bend, lift (at least 55 lb.), stretch, and climb (including ladders)
  • Must be able to perform all delivery activities (checking, cleaning, loading, and pulling)
  • Must be comfortable driving and working in inclement weather conditions with frequent stops
  • Must be able to sustain prolonged periods of standing and walking
  • Must be able to work across temperature zones (dry/frozen/refrigerated)
  • Requires bending, sitting, standing, walking, use of hands, arms, legs, eyes, and voice

10:00am-6:00pm

Monday to Friday

Weekends as needed
