Seize your opportunity to make a personal impact as an AWS System Administrator (SysAdmin) remotely supporting the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).
As an AWS SysAdmin, you will help ensure today is safe and tomorrow is smarter. Our work depends on an AWS SysAdmin joining our team to work on multi-account AWS enterprise environments, interacting effectively with customers and development teams, and implementing new infrastructure solutions for emerging new requirements. You will be a part of the DevOps team working in collaboration with Salesforce and AWS personnel as you support the development, validation, and production environments, deploying and managing services in the AWS cloud environment.
How an AWS SysAdmin will Make an Impact:
- Create and manage infrastructure using various AWS cloud services.
- Create automation scripts for provisioning, decommissioning, deploying services, and patching.
- Work with AWS support to escalate the problems to find the product limitation solutions.
- Identify potential scaling issues and help define how to monitor and fix them.
- Deliver continuous improvement of scripts and templates for reproducible deployments.
- Participate in release activities and an on-call rotation- 24x7 environment.
- Work as a team member in a fast-paced and time-sensitive environment.
What You ll Need to Succeed
Education:
- Bachelor s degree or higher
Required Experience:
- 6+ years of AWS Enterprise Cloud experience as a System Engineer, including experience with AWS CLI and AWS services such as IAM, EC2, EBS, ELB, CloudWatch, S3, Route 53, KMS, Cloud Formation, Systems Manager, and RDS.
- 4+ years of experience supporting a 24x7 enterprise production environment
- Scripting experience including Shell, Python, and working on common Linux distributions (RHEL, Amazon Linux etc.)
Required Technical Skills:
- Thorough understanding of network concepts and technologies, including DNS, HTTP, TCP/IP, Firewalls and NACLs
- Understanding of security concepts with hands-on experience implementing security controls and compliance requirements
Security Clearance Level:
- Candidate must be willing and able to obtain a CMS Public Trust clearance after onboarding.
Preferred Skills:
- AWS DevOps certification(s) Preferred: SysOps Administrator
- AWS Experience using AWS FedRamp services
- Hands-on Salesforce development experince
- Experience with Git version management servers and configuration management tools
- Experience with proactive monitoring of enterprise environments using technologies, such as New Relic, and/or Splunk.
- Experince in healthcare and/or with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services
