Job Summary:

Uncommon Hospitality is currently seeking an Accounting Clerk to join our growing hospitality management and development company in Portland, Maine on a full-time, salaried basis. The Accounting Clerk will be responsible for entering financial data for multiple hotels in a timely and accurate manner, reconciling bank accounts regularly, closing books monthly, paying vendors, and collaborating with managers at multiple hotels. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, organized and have a solid understanding of bookkeeping principles.

Compensation & Benefits:

The Accounting Clerk will receive competitive pay of $62,000 per year and will be paid on a biweekly basis.

Responsibilities:

  • Enter daily revenue into accounting software
  • Assist hotel staff to reconcile unbalanced reports, as necessary
  • Reconcile bank deposits and post daily cash management journals
  • Review and send invoices to managers
  • Process recurring invoices
  • Post invoices
  • Create and post month-end journal entries
  • Reconcile bank, purchase card, and credit card accounts
  • Perform month-end close
  • Run reports
  • Oversee occasional projects such as working with software platforms to import or integrate data, as necessary


Requirements

  • Relevant accounting experience
  • Proficient with various software platforms
  • Proficient with accounting software
  • Experience using M3 accounting software is preferred
  • Hotel accounting experience is preferred
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
