Application Support analyst
Responsible for the support, administration, and maintenance of client system. Provides technical application support to users via telephone or e-mail. Understands sql scripting and may implement rate changes in the system following the documented steps.

Requires a minimum of two years progressive application support experience preferred
Requires an understanding of sql scripting
Knowledge of business operational systems-purpose and linkages
Experienced and skilled user of office productivity tools:
o Intermediate knowledge of Word
o Intermediate knowledge of Excel
Understanding of application test strategies, test plans, test execution
Clear and effective writer and documenter
Excellent communicator, information sharer, and interpreter

ESSENTIAL TASKS/ MAJOR DUTIES
Receives and logs requests for support from the IT help desk, other service delivery staff and/or users; investigates problems and other requests and determines appropriate actions to take. Prioritizes requests in accordance with agreed criteria
Provides accurate responses to requests for support by means of: making modifications to system parameters, developing work-arounds or site specific enhancements, reconfiguring systems, changing operating procedures, training users or operations staff, producing additional documentation, or escalating requests to the development team. Monitors the progress of support requests and ensures users and other interested parties are kept informed.
Monitors assigned application systems by regularly scrutinizing reports from the application software. Notes problems and identifies performance trends. Within designated authority, takes corrective action to improve performance and to avoid future problems
Collaborates with software suppliers on the development of system enhancements to overcome known problems or further fulfill user requirements.
Defines, develops and implements quality assurance practices and procedures, end user test plans, scenarios, scripts or procedures and other QA assessments. Develop testing programs that address areas such as software scenarios, regression testing, negative testing, error or bug retests, or usability. Ensures that all tests are successfully conducted and documented according to the standards agreed upon by the business unit and IT and results are verified.
Manages specific application quality assurance and help desk activities including the tracking of bug reports and change requests and ensuring their timely resolution.
Ensures all work is carried out and documented in accordance with required standards, methods and procedures. Responsible for ensuring that all documentation accurately reflects the current status of changes and outstanding issues so that business requirements reflect application features and functions
Ensures the appropriate level of quality by the resolution of important defects; ensure the software development process has an appropriate level of testing
Assists with/and or conducts change migration and new implementation
