Job Summary:

The DEI Events Coordinator will be responsible for planning, organizing, and executing recruiting events that promote diversity, equity, and inclusion within Merck. The role requires excellent organization skills, a strong understanding of DEI principles, and the ability to collaborate with various departments to ensure successful event execution. The role will also involve utilizing Phenom People to enhance event management and participant engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Event Planning & Coordination: Design, plan, and manage DEI events, workshops, and seminars from inceptions to completion. This includes setting objectives, creative timelines, and managing budgets, and coordinating logistics.
  • Phenom People Utilization: Use Phenom People to manage event registrations, track participant engagement, and analyze event metrics. Ensuring seamlines integration of event data with DEI goals and reporting.
  • Collaboration: Partner with HR, Talent Acquisition and partner with stakeholders across the different divisions within Merck to align on DEI events.
  • Marketing & Communications: Develop promotional materials and communications strategies to increase event participation and engagement. Utilize varies platforms and channels to effectively reach target audiences.
  • Evaluation & Reporting: Gather feedback and analyze data from the events using Phenom People analytics. Prepare reports and make recommendations for future improvements.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Event Management, Communications, Human Resources or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in event planning or coordination, preferably in a DEI or pharmaceutical industry.
  • Experience with Phenom People or similar event management and HR software.
  • Strong knowledge of DEI principles and practices.
  • Excellent organization and multitasking skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in event planning or project management.
  • Familiarity with social media and digital marketing strategies.
  • Experience in the pharmaceutical industry or a similar regulated industry.
  • Familiarity with recruiting events (i.e., NSBE, SHPE, SACNAS and Prospanica)
