We have an exciting opportunity for a Systems Specialist - Hardware / Point-of-Sale with our industry-leading client in Atlanta, GA. This is a hybrid role 2x/week.

Due to client requirement, applicants must be willing and able to work on a w2 basis. For our w2 consultants, we offer a great benefits package that includes Medical, Dental, and Vision benefits, 401k with company matching, and life insurance. Rate: $40 - $45 / hr. w2

Responsibilities:
  • Identify trends and potential problem sources by reviewing incident and problem analysis
  • Prevent the replication of problems across multiple systems
  • Review the efficiency and effectiveness of the problem control process
  • Monitor the effectiveness of error control and make recommendations for improvements
  • Update the knowledge base
  • Prevent recurrence of issues by identifying root causes and implementing fixes
  • Drive all problems towards root cause identification and permanent fixes
  • Work with third-party vendors to identify issues for their respective products, test all fixes and enhancements, and work with the vendor and internal IT and external IT teams to apply changes into the production environment
  • Perform configuration, staging, and installation for POS hardware and software
  • Troubleshoot software, hardware, and networking issues
  • Understand POS interfaces, data models with central systems, and payment middleware, gateway, and bank provider
  • Assist in the definition of store systems/POS business requirements and provide viable solutions alternatives and recommendations
  • Participate in projects and enhancements that involve changes to store system applications, including determination of user requirements, testing of changes, and preparation of operational procedures
  • Act as the liaison between IT and the business units for Store Systems, responsible for identifying and resolving technical and process issues related to the POS, payment solution, and other related interfaces
  • Work on projects that apply new or existing technologies and solutions to meet business needs


Experience Requirements:
  • Requires ability to perform systems administration tasks in regards to peripheral, hardware, and various windows based systems (I.E. the ability to script with Bash, Python, PowerShell, et cetera)
  • Proficiency in Python and PowerShell scripting
  • Experience with Windows-based systems
  • Understanding of point-of-sale (POS) hardware and peripherals
  • Experience with database management and support
  • Experience with software distribution & patch management using BigFix, Kaseya, and Intune
  • Experience with Microsoft SQL query
  • Understanding of ITIL framework, especially in Incident Management, Problem Management, Change Management, Release and Deployment
  • Knowledge of retail and hospitality industry best practices with prior experience in Store Operations business processes and systems
  • Strong communication skills to translate business issues to technical solutions and vice versa
  • Ability to prioritize issues effectively
  • Collaborative skills to engage with team members and other departments
  • Business acumen to understand the retail and dining environment


Education Requirements:
  • Bachelors or equivalent experience with engineering/science, including the ability to work with technical systems including databases, payment gateway solutions, and patching / staging
