Delta Utilities is seeking an experienced Manager of Talent Acquisition to play a pivotal role in building our workforce from the ground up. This role is a full-time position based in New Orleans, Louisiana.

This individual will design and execute recruitment strategies to attract top talent across various departments, including operations, regulatory, and customer service. This position requires a proactive, adaptable individual who thrives in a dynamic environment and can build a strong talent pipeline to support our rapid growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement talent acquisition strategies aligned with company growth plans and staffing needs
  • Manage the entire recruitment process, from job posting, sourcing, interviewing, and selecting candidates to onboard
  • Build and promote the company’s employer brand to attract top-tier talent in the natural gas utilities industry
  • Establish and maintain a talent pipeline for current and future staffing needs, leveraging industry networks, social media, and recruitment platforms
  • Partner with hiring managers to understand their needs and provide guidance on job descriptions, interview processes, and candidate selection
  • Promote a diverse workforce by implementing best practices in recruiting and sourcing talent from various backgrounds
  • Use data and metrics to measure recruitment success, identify areas for improvement, and make informed decisions on hiring practices
  • Manage relationships with external recruitment agencies, job boards, and other recruitment vendors as needed
  • Ensure all recruitment practices comply with applicable employment laws and regulations

Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field
  • Minimum of five to seven years of talent acquisition experience, preferably with experience in recruiting for technical and operational roles within the utilities or similar regulated industry
  • Relevant certifications such as SHRM-CP, PHR, or similar preferred
  • Proven ability to thrive in a startup environment, including working with limited resources and scaling a team quickly
  • Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and communication skills, with the ability to influence and partner with stakeholders at all levels
  • Experience with Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) and other recruitment software; proficiency in LinkedIn Recruiter, Indeed, and other sourcing tools

In 2023, Entergy announced that it had entered into an agreement with Delta Utilities to sell its Louisiana gas distribution business. The natural gas utility currently serves more than 200,000 customers across East Baton Rouge and Orleans parishes. In February 2024, Delta Utilities entered into an agreement with CenterPoint Energy to acquire its Louisiana and Mississippi natural gas businesses, which currently serve approximately 381,000 customers. Once the transactions are complete, Entergy's Louisiana natural gas operations and CenterPoint Energy's Louisiana and Mississippi natural gas systems will be operated by Delta Utilities.
