HUNTER is looking for an Associate Manager, Media to join the HUNTER Media team. This position is within HUNTER’s internal Media Department that is set up within the agency to provide collaborative media-focused support to all internal agency account teams and their clients across food + beverage, wine + spirits, home + lifestyle, health + beauty, retail + ecommerce, travel and tech sectors.

The right candidate possesses 1-1.5 years of agency and media relations experience, is a news enthusiast who’s engaged in tracking the ever evolving media landscape and has familiarity building relationships with editors and reporters. They will play an integral role in monitoring the media, building extensive and thoughtful media lists, conducting media audits and research, writing pitches, managing outreach to consumer and lifestyle media and owning administrative tasks for the team. Additionally, they should desire to work in a very collaborative, team-oriented environment.

Qualifications Required:

B.A. in Public Relations, Journalism, Communications or the like

At least 1 (one) year of experience in a public relations/marketing agency or similar position

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, Sharepoint), Zoom and Slack

Experience and understanding of media databases and monitoring tools including Meltwater, Muckrack and Critical Mention

Responsibilities:

Understand the media landscape and facilitate consumer/lifestyle/entertainment media relations

Conduct media audits and research on HUNTER’s clients, campaigns, spokespeople and more to provide the team with thoughtful insights and POVs to help drive campaign strategy

Handle ongoing monitoring and research to identify proactive media opportunities for HUNTER clients across print/online outlets and relevant social platforms

Track trends across media coverage and cultivate a growing understanding of the ever-evolving media landscape

Create media lists, draft pitches, conduct outreach to editors, and secure media placements for talent photos, events, celebrity spokesperson interviews, campaign launches, and more

Support talent media days including developing first drafts of media briefing documents and assisting with logistics and scheduling

Maintain, foster and grow key print, online and social media relationships on behalf of the agency

Monitor program results and compile media coverage reports; carry over insights and learnings for future approaches

Provide administrative and organizational support for the Media Team

Help manage the team’s internal agency communications, including compiling and sharing editor updates, industry news, editorial calendars and more

Contribute to Account team calls and internal meetings, assist with scheduling, agenda creation, and drafting comprehensive recap notes

Assist with

Proactively participate in agency brainstorm sessions for client programs

Ability to:

Manage multiple projects across multiple accounts, while maintaining a high level of organization

Actively communicate progress, and needs, to supervisor to ensure ability to meet deliverables

Ask questions and embrace a fast-paced work environment

Maintain a high level of organization

Work evenings and/or weekends to accommodate client events and after-hours work as needed

In order to comply with equal pay and salary transparency laws in various locations, the Company believes the target range of base compensation for this role is $65K - 70K. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and location.
