JOB DESCRIPTION

This position is a great learning experience for students to gain experience in Global Supply Chain R&D during winter break. Students will be assigned to a specific lab and will be given a mentor. The student will be an active participant in the lab. This opportunity will allow students to gain experience in work groups, as well as working with other R&D professionals.

This position will be located at our Breen Technology Center and Warrensville Technical Center in Cleveland, OH.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide support to technicians, chemists and scientists within assigned Research & Development Group.

Perform a variety of laboratory tasks utilizing general instruments and advanced lab equipment.

Collaborate with other research and development team members to complete required tasks, including process chemistry and engineering and material science research groups.

Complete appropriate research documentation, calculations, and data analysis and effectively communicate these results with supervisor and team members.

Prepare basic samples, materials, equipment, and other required tools for laboratory tests or development.

Perform basic technical development, tests, analyses, and research based on formulas and project requirements.

Complete appropriate forms and documentation regarding research and development processes, tasks, results, reports and conclusions; receives direction from other technicians or chemists on specialized or complex issues.

Perform basic calculations to prepare, perform, and conclude tests and analyses.

Clean, maintain and calibrate standard equipment and maintain a clean and safe working environment.

Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Must be currently enrolled in a Bachelor's Degree program in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics ("STEM")

Have previous Sherwin-Williams lab experience

Be a rising or current sophomore, Junior or Senior in college or university at the start of the internship program

Must be willing to work up to 40 hours per week for a total of 4 weeks over winter break, with or without reasonable accommodation

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS

Previous experience in a Sherwin-Williams research and development (R&D) Internship or Co-op Program

Minimum of 2.8 GPA
