Business Analyst Specialist

Location: St. Louis, MO
Description: Our client is currently seeking a Business Systems Analyst. This is a contract to hire opportunity allowing for hybrid work structure.

The Business Systems Analyst supports operational needs and new business demands, aligning with strategic objectives to ensure technology solutions deliver business value. This role also acts as a point of escalation for stakeholders, fostering strong IT-business relationships and providing system capability insights for key decisions.

Key Responsibilities:

Customer Engagement:

• Build and maintain strong business-IT relationships with key stakeholders.
• Understand customer needs and align them with business objectives.
• Serve as a point of escalation for active initiatives.

Planning:

• Prepare business cases with partners.
• Collaborate with Program Managers on large projects, including resource planning and approval.
• Contribute to requirements elicitation and management approaches.
• Ensure business opportunities and objectives are clearly articulated.
• Perform feasibility analysis for projects.

Analysis, Design, Execution:

• Assist with process improvement and reengineering.
• Elicit and document requirements, establish scope and objectives.
• Prioritize requirements and create prototypes and mock-ups.
• Use business process modeling and quality management techniques.
• Manage and communicate requirements effectively.
• Comply with Change Management practices.

Leadership:

• Lead large project assignments and monitor technical solutions.
• Manage strategy and needs of incoming projects with Program Managers and business partners.
• Coordinate requirements management activities.
• Coach other BAs on project objectives.

Measurement:

• Perform and document quality assurance and end-user acceptance testing.
• Accountable for Service Level Agreements.
• Review and monitor business analysis effectiveness.
• Provide status reports and health metrics to Program Managers.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in IT, Business, or related field.
• 6+ years of progressively responsible experience.
• Experience with commercial software (Oracle EBS, SAP, Maximo, etc.).

Skills and Abilities:

• Business education and ITIL framework knowledge.
• Familiarity with testing techniques and software.
• Strong data analysis skills (SQL, Excel).
• Excellent communication and technical writing skills.
• Ability to conduct cost/benefit analysis and develop business cases.
• Proficiency in business analysis methods and techniques.
• Experience with use cases, data/process flows, and independent problem-solving.
• Strong organizational and presentation skills.
• Effective team collaboration and client relationship management.
