Job Title: PLC / IT Specialist

Pay rate: $28.55/hour -$44.25/hour depending on experience.

Role & Responsibilities:
Position is located in a manufacturing plant.
Responsible for effectively coordinating plant IT operations to provide a secure, cost-effective and reliable information system. This includes design support, maintenance, and local control over computer hardware, computer software, network, and printer support.
Position is responsible for fostering continuous improvement through the selection, recommendation, and installation of all computer activities and services, and the investigation of new technology to maximize functionality.
Install, configure, maintain, and provide technical support for all plant network and workstation-based software applications.
Provide operational support for camera video and telephone systems.
Responsible for training plant personnel in the use of computer equipment and software resources.
Responsibility for the maintenance, monitoring, troubleshooting, and enhancement of the plant's process control and variable-frequency drive programs.
Provide the programming for plant process control equipment (PLC's & HMI's).
Assist with the development and implementation of new PLC technologies to drive continuous improvement.
Collaborate with impacted stakeholders around needs, project status, etc.
Support the plant's networking and computer systems as needed.
Maintain confidentiality with USG confidential information being accessed , processed, or stored through company networks.
Responsible for designing, programming, testing, and implementing computer control systems used for production automation, industrial equipment, and manufacturing processes.
Troubleshoot issues and problems that may have non-standard solutions and assist maintenance craftsman with debugging and troubleshooting.
Participation in workplace organization and 5S Initiatives.
Willingness to support and/or participate on continuous improvement projects.
Work closely with Regional IT Lead for IT related duties & projects.

Qualifications & Requirements:
2- year degree in automation or equivalent work experience is preferred.
Self-starter who can be effective working independently. Must have excellent organizational skills plus the ability to manage changing priorities.
Ability to effectively collaborate across departments engaging employees over whom he/she has no direct authority.
Ability to enhance skill development needed to support a workforce with varying degrees of computer aptitude.
Familiarity with Lean Six Sigma methodology is a plus, including the ability to deliver needed mathematical and statistical analysis skills.
Demonstrated ability with the engineering, programming, and implementation of industrial control systems.
Experience with control systems components, ladder logic programming, HMI programming, and their applications is preferred.
Aptitude with industrial instrumentation and controls design.
Well developed aptitude around Microsoft Office computer applications, Project, and AutoCAD is preferred.
Use computer equipment to trouble shoot process controls.
Knowledge of industry standard safety requirements for controls and electrical systems.

Additional Information:
Company cell phone and laptop will be provided.
Shift: Primarily Day Shift 7 AM to 3 PM, M-F
Call may be required in emergency situations.

Rate of pay may be adjusted based on the qualifications and experience of the candidate.
