  • This job is a member of the Revenue Engineering organization within the Revenue Management Division.
  • This position provides opportunities to influence strategic direction of Ancillary, Pricing, Revenue Integrity, and Yield Management planning and development by working with stakeholders around the company.


What you'll do

  • Manages projects to enhance and develop Ancillaries, Pricing, Revenue Integrity, and Yield Management related systems
  • Identifies and implements best practices, business procedures, and automated solutions
  • Training and supporting systems end users
  • Works collaboratively to develop training on topics like SQL, Data Visualization and other advanced analytical concepts for team members and stakeholders
  • Works effectively with internal and external partners (vendors and other organizations within American Airlines)
  • Develops reporting, forecasting, and ad hoc analysis
  • Design and develop interactive dashboards and reports using Excel and /or Power BI to visualize key metrics and performance indicators.
  • Build and optimize VBA macros to automate repetitive tasks and improve efficiency.


All you'll need for success

Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience
  • Bachelor's degree with siginificant coursework in a quantitative discipline (Economics, Mathematics, Engineering, Finance, etc.) or equivalent experience/training


Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience
  • MS, MBA, or PhD in Operations Research, Statistics, Economics, Industrial Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or related field
  • Applicants should have refined skills with analytics software and/or programming languages (SAS/SQL/R/VBA)
  • Working knowledge of SAS, R, Python, Java, or other relevant programming languages
  • Experience solving large-scale problems and familiarity with the airline industry are a plus


Skills, Licenses & Certifications
  • Demonstrated analytical skills, including the ability to assemble information, extract pertinent facts, draw logical conclusions, and present recommendations
  • Familiarity with software programs used in conducting quantitative analysis (Oracle, SAS, etc.)
  • Refined skills in Microsoft Office software (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Self-motivated
  • Effective in a fast-changing environment
  • Ability to work well within a team environment
  • Capable of assimilating and leveraging the team's knowledge in support of ongoing and future projects
  • Skilled in building consensus across an organization
  • Proven ability to synthesize complex technical information across large data sets
