Summary:
We are seeking a Software Developer for a 4-month contract position. In this role, you will work under the supervision of a Software Development/Support Manager, analyzing complex customer problems, providing solutions, and collaborating with internal teams to ensure quick resolution. The position requires strong Java and Spring/Spring Boot development skills, with a focus on back-end systems. The ideal candidate will thrive in a hybrid work environment, possess excellent problem-solving abilities, and have a solid understanding of Linux-based deployments.
Responsibilities:
- Participate in technical team meetings.
- Identify and investigate anomalies, implementing corrective measures as needed.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to plan projects and estimate work efforts.
- Conduct code inspections and reviews.
- Mentor less experienced team members and offer technical guidance.
- Engage in various software development activities, working across front-end and back-end systems.
- Work independently to manage projects while collaborating with internal experts for quick customer issue resolution.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of back-end programming experience in Java.
- Strong experience with back-end frameworks and builds including Spring, Spring Boot, Maven, and XML.
- Knowledge of JMX open source messaging systems (Apache Kafka and/or ActiveMQ).
- Hands on experience with MySQL and/or other related databases (SQL Server, Percona, Oracle).
- Familiarity with front end development using React and JSON.
- Experience working in an Agile environment and a strong customer-oriented approach.
Nice to have:
- Knowledge of containers (Docker) to build, test, and deploy applications.
- Familiarity with Git and Confluence a plus.
Education:
- Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
Location: Cary, NC (Hybrid 3 days in office, 2 days remote)
Duration: 4 months (contract)
Hourly Rate: $55-65/hr. (DOE)
