Overview:
We are seeking an experienced COBOL Developer to work on the Unisys OS 2200 mainframe platform. You will provide operational Technical Support Services for the Unisys platform operation within the Data Center Operations Center (DCO). The selected candidates will play a critical role in supporting the technical needs of various agencies and ensuring the smooth operation of the Unisys platform.
Duties:
  • Develop and maintain COBOL programs on the Unisys OS 2200 mainframe platform.
  • Utilize Unisys ECL, TIP, and DMS 2200/RDMS for application development and maintenance.
  • Monitor production work and perform error diagnostic and debugging activities within a mainframe environment.
  • Collaborate with third-party vendors to perform system-to-system integration using Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA).
  • Ensure the reliability, security, and performance of COBOL applications on the Unisys platform.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to COBOL programs and platform operations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement system enhancements and improvements.
  • Provide technical support and expertise to resolve complex technical challenges.
Basic Qualifications:
  • 5 years of experience working with COBOL 74 and/or 85 programming on Unisys 2200 series.
  • 4 years of experience utilizing Unisys ECL, TIP, and DMS 2200/RDMS for application development.
  • 4 years of experience monitoring production work and performing error diagnostic/debugging activities in a mainframe environment.
  • Desirable: 3 years of experience performing system-to-system integration with a third-party vendor utilizing Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA).
Preferred Skills
  • Proficiency in COBOL programming on the Unisys OS 2200 mainframe platform.
  • Strong knowledge of Unisys ECL, TIP, and DMS 2200/RDMS.
  • Experience with monitoring and troubleshooting production systems.
  • Familiarity with Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) for system integration.
  • Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on delivering high-quality solutions.
