Systems Developer
18 Month W2 Contract
$75-$90/hour
Jersey City- Hybrid 3 days onsite
Resource needed for projects that are ongoing in the Infrastructure and Restoration team. This group ensures stability and progress of EFS, an Enterprise Critical Infrastructure (ECI) supporting 200+ Prioritized Critical Services and running on over 120,000 Linux midrange servers. This resource will need to maintain the aging Perl codebase and work alongside the internal architect for conversion from Perl to Python. They will be involved in all technical aspects of solution design and application development for the user base.
Must Haves / Required Skills:
- 7+ years of experience in Python and Perl development
- Experience in developing large-scale, back-end applications
- Ability to understand, develop, and maintain complex server software
- Skill in development with scripting languages and tools including Perl, Python, Bash, and Git
- Experience with Agile development processes and tools, such as Jira and Confluence
- Experience with Continuous Integration and Deployment practices and tools, such as Jenkins and Ansible
- Ability to utilize multiple architectural components (across data, application, business) in design and development of client requirements
- Experience creating technical documentation and training materials
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to adjust to technical and non-technical audiences across the organization
- Ability to work collaboratively with a geographically dispersed team
- Extensive Red Hat Linux experience with the ability to demonstrate knowledge of NFS
- Demonstrated ability to create and maintain Ansible automation, including jobs, roles, and inventories
- Experience with NetApp Network Attached Storage devices
- DevOps experience with Perl / Python
- Experience analyzing and reporting on operational data with Oracle SQL and Splun
