Safety Officer/Motor Coach Manager

Position Overview:

A1A Transportation Group, a leading provider of luxury ground transportation services, is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Safety Manager to oversee the safety operations of our CDL drivers for our fleet of mini coaches and motor coaches. The Safety Manager will be responsible for hiring, training, and managing the performance of CDL drivers, ensuring that all safety protocols and compliance requirements are met. This position plays a critical role in maintaining the highest standards of safety and service excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

• Driver Recruitment & Hiring:
• Lead the recruitment, hiring, and onboarding process for CDL drivers.
• Conduct interviews, background checks, and ensure drivers meet all licensing and certification requirements.
• Training & Development:
• Design and deliver comprehensive safety training programs for CDL drivers, including compliance with DOT regulations, defensive driving techniques, and company safety standards.
• Conduct regular safety meetings and ongoing professional development sessions for drivers.
• Driver Performance & Compliance:
• Monitor driver performance through safety audits, ride-alongs, and vehicle tracking systems to ensure adherence to safety protocols.
• Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal transportation regulations, including maintaining up-to-date driver files and safety records.
• Investigate accidents or incidents involving company vehicles, identify root causes, and implement corrective action plans.
• Disciplinary Actions & Terminations:
• Manage disciplinary procedures and handle any violations of safety standards or company policies.
• Make recommendations for driver terminations when necessary based on performance or safety concerns.
• Safety Program Management:
• Oversee the continuous improvement of the company's safety program, including risk assessments, safety protocols, and preventive measures.
• Stay updated on industry trends and best practices to enhance safety operations and maintain regulatory compliance.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a safety management role, preferably in the ground transportation industry.
• Proven experience in recruiting, training, and managing CDL drivers.
• Strong knowledge of DOT regulations, safety standards, and compliance requirements.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work effectively with drivers, management, and regulatory agencies.
• CDL license or experience working with CDL drivers is a plus.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
