We are seeking a senior, hands-on Senior Business Solutions Analyst with strong communication skills for a long-term hybrid assignment with our Sacramento, California-based client. This position requires that you be able to work on-site in Sacramento, California for at least 2 days/wk as determined by the client.

Key Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Lead business and systems analysis for data warehouse solutions, including needs assessment, process improvement, and requirements gathering
  • Develop and document functional and technical specifications, translating business needs into system designs
  • Create system architecture, scope, and objectives, ensuring integration of all components
  • Prepare business cases, cost estimates, and lead the development of requirements and design specifications
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to implement solutions, facilitating requirements sessions and documentation
  • Oversee data quality, including checks, validation, and troubleshooting performance issues
  • Provide post-implementation support and coordinate EDW incident response
  • Conduct system testing, including developing test plans and documenting results
  • Review existing architecture, propose improvements, and ensure security policy compliance.
  • Translate business and functional requirements into technical requirements for Data Warehousing efforts.
  • Demonstrate through direct hands-on, recent practical experience in the areas identified with specific examples.

Requirements:

  • Must have eight (8) to ten (10) years of experience applying analytical processes on IT projects.
  • Must have a minimum of three (3) years of verifiable experience in database design, development, and warehouse architecture supportive of key duties/responsibilities identified above in an Oracle environment.
  • At least three (3) years of experience in the last 6 years as a business and/or systems analyst on a data warehouse project. At least one project should have involved Oracle ADW.
  • Five (5) years of experience performing business solutions analysis within the last 10 years
  • A Bachelor s degree is required. Additional qualifying experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.

  • Demonstrate strong communication skills, including the ability to:
    • Effectively present complex technical concepts to diverse audiences
    • Write clear, concise reports and documentation
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
  • Demonstrated experience in leading technical conversations with various stakeholder groups.
  • Advanced knowledge in data management and data warehousing concepts such as Kimball, Snowflake, Star and Hybrid schemas
  • Proficiency in structured analysis principles and methods for large-scale data systems
  • Strong systems analysis skills, including requirements gathering and specification development
  • Experience with modern data modeling and design tools
  • Knowledge of enterprise data architecture and integration strategies
  • Familiarity with data governance and quality management practices
  • Understanding of business intelligence and analytics processes
  • Ability to conduct cost-benefit analyses for data warehouse initiatives
  • Proficiency in designing and documenting complex data systems
  • Experience with ETL processes and tools in an enterprise setting
  • Knowledge of data warehouse design standards, policies, and best practices
  • Skill in analyzing and optimizing business processes related to data management
  • Understanding of data lifecycle management in large organizations
  • Familiarity with cloud-based data warehouse solutions and technologies
  • Ability to evaluate and recommend data system development projects
  • Experience in leading process improvement initiatives for IT and data functions
  • Knowledge of current trends in data technologies and their business applications
  • Knowledge of Oracle ADW Product and features

Desired Skills:

  • Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts and dimensional modeling
  • Ability to perform data mapping, data analysis, data cleansing, and data validation if needed
