  • Additional Job Details : JOB TITLE DEFINITION: The scribe is responsible for physically aiding a medical student in using a computer to access patient files in an Electronic Health Record (more specifically EPIC). Individual will not have to interact with patients or type patient notes into their files. SAMPLE WORK RESPONSIBILITIES: To be able to use mouse and keyboard to assist student in interfacing with a computer system to gather information from patient records. Possess excellent and clear communication and listening skills. Ability to follow student lead directions on navigating Electronic Health Record Be reliable, punctual, respect professional boundaries at all times as part of an interdisciplinary team. To understand and be flexible to the needs of students with disabilities in a higher education environment. Completed computer-based trainings on hospital HIPPA protocols on accessing patient files. Be comfortable on a hospital floor in both inpatient/ outpatient settings Have received an up to date flu shot. Maintain confidentiality of student s personal information in accordance with ODS policies Maintain accurate record of hours worked and services provided
