Responsible for control and issue of linen and terry products used by room and food and beverage divisions. Ensures that all laundry is removed from chutes, sorted and prepared for transport to wash area. Removes soiled items from laundry carts, inspects linen and terry for damage or stains, sorts, separates and bags soiled linen and terry for processing. Job Description

  • Assists housekeeper or porter in unloading carts containing soiled linen and terry products.
  • Keep common areas neat and free of debris at all times (cleaning products should not be visible to guests or left in common areas).
  • Remove soiled items from laundry carts and place them accordingly.
  • Remove damage or stained items for special processing.
  • Programs finishing equipment to process various types of linen and terry products.
  • Feed washed damp or dry linen onto ironer or folder, or folds dry linen by hand.
  • Feeds dry terry products on to folder or folds by hand.
  • Sorts, stacks and counts finished linen and terry products.
  • Coordinates monthly inventory of all linen and terry products, determines loss quantities and statistics.
  • Reports all equipment problems to supervisor.
  • Maintains cleanliness and organization of all work areas.
  • Promotes and applies teamwork skills at all times.
  • Complete all assigned checklists and inventory sheets to be approved by supervisor.
  • Keep linen and supply closet organized.
  • Use only approved cleaning supplies that are provided.
  • Follow special care instructions for linens, hardwood floors, bathroom surfaces, etc.
  • Wear proper uniform at all times in a neat and professional manner.
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds and endure various physical movements throughout the day.
  • Able to perform job functions with attention to detail, speed and accuracy.
  • Attend monthly department meetings and training sessions as necessary.
  • Anything that contributes to a positive culture and the success of the hotel.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED).
  • One to two years previous experience in a similar position.
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently.
  • Basic math skills associated with inventory control, issue and report generation.
  • Schedule flexibility.
