About the Role: The Regional Accountant will be a critical team member who will lead and support workstreams to advance key accounting objectives in the areas assigned. He/she will interface heavily with LSP's Regional Controllers and other internal teams to ensure integrity within the financial statements and accounting consistency across our partners.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for the region.
  • Ensure timely and accurate reporting of financial results to corporate headquarters.
  • Develop and maintain financial reporting systems to comply with government regulations and corporate policies. Oversee the maintenance of the regional general ledger.
  • Perform month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of all financial transactions.
  • Assist in the preparation of the annual budget and periodic forecasts.
  • Analyze variances between actual results and budget/forecast, providing explanations and recommendations for improvement.
  • Work with regional managers to ensure budget adherence and financial performance.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, policies, and procedures.
  • Conduct periodic audits to ensure adherence to financial regulations and standards.
  • Implement improvements to financial processes and systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Provide financial analysis and support for business decisions, including cost analysis, profitability analysis, and investment appraisals.
  • Prepare ad-hoc financial reports and analysis as requested by management.
  • Support the day-to-day accounting functions by owning transactional accounting within the assigned accounting area for identified partner companies in support of ensuring a complete, accurate, and timely monthly close process. These areas include but are not limited to cash application/bank reconciliations, credit card reconciliations, payroll accounting, fixed assets, prepaids, etc.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with regional accounting teams; provide outstanding customer service.
  • Collaborate with other departments to gather financial information and provide support on accounting-related inquiries.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in accounting or finance
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in accounting or a related field
  • CPA or MBA preferred
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a customer-service focus
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced work environment

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
  • Systems aptitude with the following experience preferred but not required: Sage Intacct, UKG, Bill.com and/or Service Titan
