Job Description

Job Impulse, Inc. has an immediate opening for a CNC Machinist for a client of ours located in Lake Orion MI. Our client is a manufacturing facility. The CNC Machinist is responsible for setting up, troubleshooting, and operating CNC machinery.

Responsibilities Of a CNC Machinist
  • Interpret engineering drawings and specifications to understand the requirements of the part.
  • Write, modify, and optimize CNC programs using CAM software.
  • Set up CNC machines by installing fixtures, tooling, and workpieces according to specifications.
  • Input program data, including tooling offsets, workpiece coordinates, and cutting parameters
  • Load raw materials into the CNC machine and secure them properly.
  • Operate CNC machines to perform machining operations such as milling, turning, drilling, and grinding.
  • Monitor machine operation to ensure proper functioning and make adjustments as necessary.
  • Follow safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents and injuries.

Qualifications Of a CNC Machinist
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.
  • Knowledge of CNC programming languages such as G-code and M-code, as well as familiarity with CAM software for CNC programming.
  • Understanding of machining principles, including cutting speeds, feeds, tool geometry, and material properties.
  • Ability to use precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, depth gauges, and dial indicators.
  • Experience with CNC machine operation, setup, and troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with various machining processes, including milling, turning, drilling, grinding, and multitasking machining.
  • Knowledge of tooling selection, tooling setup, and tool maintenance practices.
  • Basic understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) principles.Hands-on experience operating CNC machines and performing machining operations.
  • Experience with machine setup, including fixture installation, tooling setup, and workpiece alignment.
  • Demonstrated ability to produce high-quality precision parts within specified tolerances and quality standards.
  • Experience with quality control processes, including inspection techniques and documentation.
  • Familiarity with industry-specific standards and regulations related to machining and manufacturing processes.

REQUIRED Experience and Education: At least 3-5 years of experience as a CNC Machinist in the Manufacturing Industry.

Working experience with Lathes and Mills

The ability to Program is a plus in MasterCAM
