The Shipping & Logistics Coordinator I is responsible for assisting with all aspects of shipping and delivery specifically to ensure customer satisfaction and assists with receiving of all incoming deliveries and ensures delivery to the appropriate recipient. This position reports to the Inventory Control and Warehouse Manager and will work onsite at ZincFive headquarters in Tualatin, Oregon.

Shipping & Logistics Coordinator I Job Duties

  • Support the corporate revenue objective by working closely with the production manager to ensure on time shipment and delivery
  • Set up, manage, and negotiate with freight brokerage partners both domestic and international, including customs clearance and packaging requirements
  • Unpack incoming shipments and register in the ERP system for tracking and route applicable materials to specific locations
  • Provide excellent customer service to external and internal customers while promoting customer service excellence in the department
  • Receive incoming RMAs, update tracking information via data entry and reconcile inventory
  • Pick, package, and ship electronic product orders as entered by inventory control using a variety of commercial shipping methods, including crating pallets with power hand tools
  • Load and unload freight trucks using a forklift (propane)
  • Process product accessories and ancillary equipment in accordance with corporate Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and detailed work instructions
  • Audit incoming and outgoing shipments to assure quality and accuracy
  • Operate computerized shipping systems
  • Operate in a lean manufacturing environment
  • Maintain storage areas and stockroom as “Inspection Ready” status
  • Conduct regular inventory count/audit and provide feedback to the Inventory Manager
  • Returned product processing (i.e., relabeling and follow-up)
  • Process internal shipping requests for distribution of corporate materials to include appropriate container selection and shipping method that best meets delivery expectations
  • Identify and suggest solutions for inventory and process improvement including kitting time improvement

Job Requirements

  • Minimum high school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum one year of international and domestic shipping and receiving experience
  • Experience supporting and working with a sales team
  • Experience using an ERP system such as SAP or similar
  • General experience/understanding of shipping and receiving Printed Circuit Board (PCB) assemblies, electro-mechanical products, batteries, and raw materials
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as sales orders, packing slips, procedures, and invoices
  • Understanding of lean manufacturing methodologies
  • Experience as a forklift operator with current and valid certification, or ability to obtain certification within 30 days
  • Working knowledge of MS Office 365 Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with all levels of corporate staff and customer base
  • Excellent time management, organizational and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail
  • Must possess strong work ethic and be customer service centric
  • Ability to work independently under general supervision
  • Ability to handle light power tools, (i.e., drills), and manual tools, (i.e., hammer, screw drivers, etc.)
  • Ability to stand, bend and stoop consistently
  • Ability to lift and carry a minimum of 40 pounds on a routine basis
  • Ability to safely operate a forklift (propane)

Physical Requirements And Working Conditions

  • Work involves sitting, walking, and lifting up to 40 pounds
  • Requires close visual acuity, the ability to distinguish color
  • Ability to hear in warehouse and office environments
  • Will be required to assemble wooden crates for ocean shipments
  • Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment when required
  • Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions and temperatures in the warehouse and on the loading dock
