Job Summary:

We are seeking a Senior Business Analyst with substantial experience to drive the analysis, documentation, and implementation of complex, interrelated projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in business analysis, especially within software development projects and SaaS or COTS implementations. This role demands independent judgment, initiative, and expertise in managing and delivering high-quality business analysis outcomes.

Responsibilities:

  • Requirement Gathering and Documentation:

    • Utilize multiple methods to gather, develop, and document business requirements.
    • Conduct thorough analysis and documentation for multiple inter-related projects, including software applications (SaaS/COTS) and data migration.
  • Business Process Review and Development:

    • Review and assess existing business processes and develop new processes as required.
    • Design and validate user acceptance testing processes to ensure system functionality meets business needs.
  • Project Implementation and Support:

    • Provide research and support for special projects, ensuring deliverables are consistent with established processes and quality standards.
    • Analyze and document the implementation of software applications and data migration from legacy systems to new systems.
  • Team Leadership and Supervision:

    • Oversee and/or supervise the work of others, providing guidance and ensuring adherence to established methodologies.
    • Facilitate interactive sessions with business and cross-functional teams to ensure effective communication and project alignment.
  • Analysis and Problem-Solving:

    • Analyze and address production support issues, determining root causes and documenting requirements for data or system corrections.
    • Develop and maintain an understanding of key business drivers and impacts, assisting clients in identifying and solving business issues.
  • Technical Documentation and Design:

    • Define functional design and systems specifications, preparing, reviewing, and delivering completed documentation packages.
    • Guide business and functional units in user acceptance testing, training, and implementation activities.

Mandatory Skills:

  1. Experience: 8 years of business analysis experience on software development projects, including preparation of project-related documentation.
  2. Communication: Strong interpersonal, collaborative, analytical, written, and verbal communication skills in English. Proficiency in MS Office suite and prototyping/screen mock-up tools such as Visio and SnagIt.
  3. Requirements Elicitation: Hands-on experience with requirements elicitation, client management, and technical documentation including traceability, use cases, prototyping, and data modeling.
  4. Facilitation: Skilled in facilitating interactive sessions with business and cross-functional teams.
  5. Production Support Analysis: Expertise in analyzing production support issues to determine root causes and document necessary corrections.
  6. Business Impact Understanding: Ability to develop and maintain an understanding of key business drivers and assist clients in solving business challenges.
  7. Functional Design: Experience in defining functional design and systems specifications; preparing and reviewing completed packages.
  8. User Acceptance Testing: Experience in guiding Business and Functional Units through user acceptance testing, training, and implementation-related activities.

Desirable Skills:

  1. Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with mainframe environments, SQL, Salesforce environments, Remedyforce, Core Java/J2EE, and relational databases.
  2. Process Improvement: Experience with process improvement strategies and methodologies.
  3. Change Leadership: Proven ability to lead change and design more efficient processes.
  4. Industry Experience: Experience in the Oil and Gas industry and compliance/enforcement-related projects as a Business Analyst.
  5. Team Dynamics: Proven ability to work effectively within multifaceted teams, resolve conflicts, and manage challenging situations.
  6. Education: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience.
