Job Summary

Performs a variety of routine and complex clerical, secretarial and administrative work in keeping official records, providing administrative support to the Public Works Director and staff, and assisting in the administration of the standard operating policies and procedures of the department including payroll, job costing, and all aspects of permitting.

Pay Rate

Hourly pay range from $27.03 to $30.77, plus full benefits.

Requirements

  • Must possess a valid Colorado driver’s license.
  • Must complete ICS 100 and ICS 700 within the first year of employment.
  • Willingness to take and successfully complete a First Aid class, flagging class, and CPR class, and other specialized or safety training that may be offered by the Public Works Department or other training facilities.

Qualifications/Education

  • Graduation from a high school or GED equivalent with specialized course work in general office practices such as typing, word processing and spreadsheets, filing, accounting and bookkeeping, and
  • two (2) years of increasingly responsible related experience, or any equivalent combination of related education and experience.

Knowledge/Skills

  • Working knowledge of computers and electronic data processing; working knowledge of modern office practices and procedures; working knowledge of Microsoft Office software; some knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
  • Skill in operation of listed tools and equipment.
  • Ability to effectively meet and deal with the public; ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing; ability to handle stressful situations; ability to multi task.

Physical Requirements

STRENGTH Medium - Exert up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 lbs. of force frequently, and/or up to 10 lbs. of force constantly to move objects.
