FEFA LLC is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the daily operations of a laboratory animal facility in Bethesda/Rockville, MD. The role includes managing contract staff, ensuring compliance with project requirements, maintaining effective communication with clients, and conducting quality assurance checks. Additional responsibilities include staff scheduling, inventory management, and supporting staff training and development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage contract staff, ensuring their performance aligns with contract requirements.
  • Implement, supervise, and provide oversight for staff evaluations, mentoring, and corrective actions as needed.
  • Ensure all project tasks comply with the contract Statement of Work, SOPs, and policies.
  • Provide regular reporting on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis, as required by the contract.
  • Maintain effective and professional communication with customers.
  • Schedule staff to ensure adequate coverage on weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
  • Manage facility supply inventory, ensuring timely procurement and availability.
  • Conduct routine quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) checks to maintain high performance standards.
  • Report any non-compliance issues promptly to the appropriate personnel or client for immediate resolution.
  • Support data and information reporting as per the contract deliverable schedule.
  • Perform additional duties as necessary to cover staff absences.
  • Collaborate with the FEFA Corporate Trainer to identify training topics that enhance staff development and contract performance.
  • Stay thoroughly informed about the daily activities, personnel, and schedules within the facility.
  • Actively contribute to achieving quality performance and fulfilling contract requirements.
  • Undertake any other duties assigned by the FEFA Program Director.

Requirements

Work Schedule:

  • Onsite work hours are Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, with flexibility for early or late hours based on project needs.
  • Weekend and holiday hours are from 7:00 AM to 11:00 AM on an as needed basis.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Current AALAS certification at the LATG level is required; CMAR certification is preferred.
  • A minimum of 4 years of management experience, with fundamental knowledge of multiple animal species and veterinary technical experience.
  • Proficiency in using various software programs and familiarity with facility operational and technical processes.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen with the ability to obtain security clearance.
