Job Summary

The overnight attendant is the first response if there is an emergency call from an apartment or cottage. Building oversight and cleanliness of common areas in accordance with company policies and standards. The position reports to the Campus Maintenance Director.

Education And Experience

  • HS diploma or equivalent
  • Prior Independent Living or Senior Living experience preferred

Requirements

  • Must demonstrate trustworthiness and dependability
  • Be able to work efficiently and effectively with little or no supervision
  • Possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant
  • Demonstrate effective communication skills
  • Be able to perform proficiently in all competency areas including but not limited to; general housekeeping, safety, responding to emergency calls and telephone skills
  • Ability to live the Arbor Way culture standards
  • Understand and follow state regulations, emergency protocol and company policies

Position Responsibilities

  • Checks that all doors are secure and locked as specified
  • Monitor emergency call system and carries pager, portable phone and walkie to ensure communication needs are met
  • Responds to emergencies quickly and appropriately
  • Records safety checks and communication for team in log
  • Handles front desk responsibilities as needed to meet resident and visitor needs.
  • Trash disposal and newspaper deliveries
  • Ability to enter maintenance requests into TELS and perform light maintenance duties
  • Assists in set-up and/or tear down of resident events/activities as needed
  • Other tasks as assigned

Essential Functions

  • Must be able to respond promptly to emergency alerts via pager
  • Must be able to represent the community in a professional, courteously and warm manner
  • Must have the ability to deal with difficult individuals in a professional manner
  • Must be well-groomed and in proper attire for position
  • Must be knowledgeable of fire safety and emergency response procedures
  • Must be able to read, write and understand English language
  • Must be able to follow company policies and procedures
  • Must be able to assist residents in evacuation
  • Must be able to use reasoning skills and good judgment
  • Must be able to sit, stand, bend, lift, push, Pull, stoop, walk, reach and move intermittently during work hours
  • Must be able to lift 35 lbs floor to waist, lift 35 lbs waist to shoulder, lift and carry 35 lbs and push/pull 35 lbs
  • Must be able to demonstrate dependable and regular attendance
