DPP is seeking a Business Systems Analyst I for an opportunity in Columbia, SC. Candidates must be eligible to earn a low-level US security clearance.

Work arrangement:
  • Hybrid, onsite Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and as needed
  • W2 position; 12 months
  • Must be eligible to earn a low-level US security clearance, which requires a thorough background search and ship.
Summary:
  • Primary responsible for defining and documenting system business requirements.
  • Work directly with clients to understand the individual needs of the business.
  • Perform research and analysis in order to come up with solutions to business problems and help to introduce these solutions to businesses and their clients.

Certifications:
  • Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP), HIPAA, LOMA.
Minimum required work experience:
  • 2 years of IT business analysis experience.
  • Preferred: Job related experience with government business and/or prior experience with the client.
Job/class description:
  • Defines customer needs in technical and business contexts. Ensure the proposed technical and business solutions meet the customer's objectives for the work effort.
  • Elicit and document user requirements to meet a business objective. Identify and validate requirements and organize the information into a logical document that is understood by the customer and Information Systems.
  • Guide both technical and customer departments in the development of the systems that support the business solution.
  • Ensure the accurate deployment of solutions through review of problem logs, assisting with test plans and test matrices, and other analysis activities.
  • Validate the business need for solutions to business problems and process improvements.

  • Understands how IT affects an organization and is able to link it to business processes.

  • Broad understanding of test plans and test matrices, project plans, and scope and design documents.
  • Microsoft Office.
  • Preferred: Visio, MS Project or similar software, data mining using DB2, SQL, and/or other tools.
Work environment:
  • The team is responsible for capturing and defining all business requirements for the client s applications.
  • The team has 6 key performers, all responsible for capturing understanding for our customers.
  • Fast-paced, high demand environment. Work is frequently performed against mandated deadlines.
  • Knowledge of when and what to delegate is essential in order to balance multiple high-priority tasks.
  • Fast paced, multi-platformed environment which may require action and response 24X7 to support the technical business needs of the customer.
Required education/equivalencies:
  • Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or other job-related degree;
  • OR, Associate s degree in CS, IT, or other job-related degree plus 2 years of work-related experience;
  • OR, 4 years job-related work experience (total 6 years without a degree)
  • Preferred: Bachelor's degree-in Computer Science, Business Administration, or other job related field. OR 4 years of job related experience with government business and/or prior experience with the client.
