Job Description:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Insurance Verifier to join our team. The Insurance Verifier will be responsible for confirming patient insurance coverage, ensuring accurate billing, and coordinating benefits to maximize reimbursement for services provided. This position requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Verify patient insurance coverage and eligibility for services.
  • Accurately input and update insurance information in the system.
  • Confirm coverage details including deductibles, co-pays, and co-insurance amounts.
  • Coordinate with insurance companies to resolve coverage discrepancies or questions.
  • Obtain authorizations for services when necessary.
  • Provide excellent customer service by answering patient questions about their insurance and benefits.
  • Work closely with the billing department to ensure proper claims submission and follow-up.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required; associate degree or higher preferred.
  • Minimum 1-2 years of experience in insurance verification, medical billing, or a related healthcare field.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology, CPT and ICD-10 codes, and insurance guidelines.
  • Knowledge of insurance verification processes, including Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance plans.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in medical billing software and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel).
  • Ability to communicate effectively with insurance companies, healthcare providers, and patients.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Familiar with multiple insurance portals.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with EHR System.
  • Bilingual skills are a plus.

Compensation:

Competitive salary commensurate with experience and benefits package including health insurance, PTO, and 401(k) options.

Pay range

$18—$22 USD
