IO Datasphere, Inc. has been providing project management, software development and IT staff augmentation services to our clients in the Midwest and throughout the U.S. since 1996. We are an approved vendor on contract to provide software development and IT staff augmentation services for the States of Illinois, Michigan, Minnesota, Iowa, and Wisconsin. We also provide these services to businesses, as well as local and county governments, in the Midwest and nationwide.

Our client is looking for a SQL/BI Data Analyst. The person in this role will require the to rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals and independently perform a variety of complicated tasks.

Tasks:

• Supporting the analysis and documentation of data asset inventories for existing software and systems.
• Assisting with system transformation efforts ensuring that business processes are properly mapped to supporting system data assets.
• Will work with subject matter experts, SME s, to document links between the assets and business processes, when data inventories are identified.
• May be asked to work with SME s to update data dictionaries and document important meta data associated with the assets that will streamline system transformation from existing mainframe based systems to a web based system.
• Load datasets into relational databases creating table structures to link and cross reference data assets with reports, applications, interfaces, batch processes and their associated business processes.
• Reviews, analyzes, and evaluates business systems and user needs.
• Provide support for database/dataset inventories.
• Analyze the logical and physical database models and ensure data models / data dictionaries are up to date.
• Generate and prepare meta data linking datasets to associated business processes

Skills Required:

• 10+ years - Experience in relational databases, and Structured Query Language (SQL)
• 10+ years - Experience documenting and understanding complex business and data relationships, through Entity Relationship Diagrams (ERDs)
• Demonstrated communication experience, working with business and technical teams
• 5+ years - Experience developing and understanding ETL for data transformation

Skills Desired A plus to have:

• Experience / Familiarity with Tableau
• Experience / Familiarity with Business Objects
• Experience with Tech Writing, with an emphasis on communicating between the business and technical needs of a cross functional project team
• Experience using data modeling tools (ex: ERwin) and understanding Entity Relationship Diagrams, ERDs, and data modeling
• Experience with MS SQL Server
• Experience with Oracle
• IBM DB2 experience
• In depth experience creating and maintaining ERD s in the ERWIN tool
