Job Description:

The Data Architect will play a critical role in steering the strategic direction for data management within the organization, aligning data strategies with business objectives, and ensuring the highest standards of data integrity, privacy, and security. This individual will be responsible for developing a comprehensive data architecture strategy, recommending cutting-edge data technologies, and leading the implementation of data solutions that drive business growth and compliance.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand strategic objectives and define data strategies that align with the organization's goals. Develop a roadmap for implementing data solutions that support business initiatives, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
  • Develop and implement the organization's data architecture strategy aligned with business objectives and IT roadmap. Define the target state architecture and create a roadmap for its implementation, considering data integration, data storage, data governance, and data security requirements.
  • Evaluate and recommend data technologies, tools, and platforms to support data solution requirements. Assess the suitability of database management systems, data integration tools, data warehouses, big data platforms, and analytics solutions based on specific use cases and business needs.
  • Define and implement data governance frameworks, data quality standards, and compliance measures to ensure data integrity, privacy, and security. Establish data management processes, metadata management practices, and data lifecycle management strategies.
  • Ability to produce client ready solution architecture, business understandable presentations and good communication skills to lead and run workshops.
  • Provide technical leadership for data solution projects, manage timelines, and oversee the implementation of data architecture initiatives. Lead data solution design reviews, guide development teams, and ensure the successful delivery of data solutions.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 15 years of progressive information management solutions and end-to-end development life-cycle support and SDLC processes.
  • Proficiency in data modeling concepts and techniques, including entity-relationship modeling, dimensional modeling, and normalization. Ability to design logical and physical data models that align with business requirements and support efficient data storage and retrieval.
  • Established experience delivering information management solutions to large numbers of end users.
  • Demonstrated understanding of enterprise data warehouse, big data, BI & analytics, content management and data management.
  • Data modelling and architecting skills including strong foundation in data warehousing concepts, data normalization, and dimensional data modelling such as OLAP, or data vault.
  • Good fundamentals around security integration including Kerberos authentication, SAML and data security and privacy such as data masking and tokenization techniques.
  • In-depth knowledge of various database management systems (DBMS) such as relational databases (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL), NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra), and cloud-based data services (e.g., Amazon RDS, Azure SQL Database).
  • Experience of data integration patterns, data movement technologies, and data synchronization methods. Proficiency in designing data pipelines for batch and real-time data processing.
  • Familiarity with big data technologies and platforms such as Hadoop, Spark, and related ecosystems. Understanding of data lakes, data warehouses, and data analytics tools to support advanced analytics, machine learning, and business intelligence.
  • Understanding of cloud-based data services and platforms, including AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud. Ability to design data architectures for cloud environments, leveraging cloud storage, databases, and analytics services.
