  1. Make sure the webpage is open.
  2. In the Safari app on your Mac, choose Safari > Preferences, then click Security.
  3. Make sure the Enable JavaScript checkbox is selected.
  4. Click Websites.
  5. On the left, click Content Blockers.
  6. Make sure Off is chosen in the pop-up menu next to the website.
  7. On the left, click Pop-up Windows.
  8. Make sure Allow is chosen in the pop-up menu next to the website.

Reason for need:
They have a list of security flaws and where they are and need to get rid of those as fast as they can. Then they will come back and upgrade all packages to latest known. Security bug hunt.

Candidate needs to be open to requests and what client is asking for even if it doesn t make sense. Someone who is open to objective ways of thinking since they are targeting a list of 100 items or so (Security items), trying to get this done in 6 weeks, then they can take a minute to go into the targeted list they have . Time is of the essence on the list vs. doing what is right at the moment. The context is around sox compliance and the timeline between sox audits. Timeline between sox audit one and sox audit two.

Skills Required: ReactNative, Objective-C, Java

*ReactNative is key one product connects to Azure and the other connects to Amazon cloud/AWS. Client prefers more Azure than AWS if there is weight on experience (one over the other)

Android/iOS developer and mostly around hardware devices. Example: Camera takes pictures of barcodes. Not a lot of lower-level stuff needed but candidate should know enough to get by, largely in ReactNative. Objective-C & Java, candidate just needs to have familiarity with those and not be a goo-roo. Testing will be done by QA team.

Day to day:
Upgrade existing mobile platforms (2 product apps) to the latest technology versions as part of their security initiative, no new features.

Pretty straight forward upgrades to product apps with quick turnaround needed.

Currently have a jr. level developer that does their mobile maintenance, but they are under a time crunch to get security upgrades out now through the end of the year and need someone with more experience to handle the unexpected package conflicts the upgrades are creating.

Need someone with experience/Sr level who knows how to troubleshoot.

Details:

  • 2 business units, each with their own product. Each product has a web and a mobile front-end with a shared restAPI middle to back end. (one product is .NET Azure, the other product is scala/java AWS but since behind the RestAPI should have minimal impact other than the cloud services to connect through).
  • Both mobile are reactNative
  • One of the products has additional hardware connected with it including Bluetooth, headphone jack, and transact reader based point-of-sale type of hardware. The other is basic software only.
