Job Description: Independent Contractor Forensic Accountant Content Reviewer and Creator

An independent contractor forensic accountant to assist with course development for a certificate program for a university.

Responsibilities and Duties:

Content Review

  • Review content for existing online Forensic Accounting class for accuracy to ensure and provide notes to instructional designer for updates and additional assignments, learning materials, assignments and/or testing material

Podcast Work

  • Create 3 stories (dependent on applicability and recollection), either written out and retold in a call and recorded for transcription for 9 modules, making a total of 27 stories. A script outline and guidelines can be provided if the SME chooses to write the recollections. The topics for each are as follows:
  1. Most Memorable Case/Story
  2. Red Flag Stories
  3. Risk Assessment
  4. Being an Expert Witness
  5. Large Financial Damages
  6. Interview/Testimony Horror Stories
  7. eDiscovery
  8. Catching a Criminal: Follow the Money
  9. Mini-Series Wrap Up
  • Storytelling guide and the podcast flow will be provided
  • Be prepared to provide additional clarification if needed on each story
  • SME will complete a story outline for two topics or more a week
  • Required length: At least 500 words for the story for each podcast, or 8 minutes recorded storytelling (zoom call transcript)
  • Level of detail: The SME is asked to recount/create cases including minute details that relate to the course material in how they performed each action;Names, places, and etc.

Requirements for Qualifications and Skills

  • Degree in Forensic Accounting
  • Five years of experience working in the field of Forensic Accounting
  • Experience testifying and working on cases in Forensic Accounting
  • Ability to relay stories in an imaginative and engaging format
  • Ability to record in a quiet location
  • Well spoken, clear, audible voice

Technical Requirements

  • Ability to use Audacity, Quicktime or Sound/Recorder/Snip or other recording system to record audio clips and send clips Use of one of the following: recording device such as microphone & recorder, portable recorder with built in mic, cellphone with a headset, laptop with a headset or etc.
  • Use of a Desktop or Laptops: Mac or Windows (Possible options below)
  • Adobe Acrobat Reader/Pro
  • Foxit Reader
  • Microsoft Surface Pro
  • Microsoft Windows 8
  • Preview software for Mac
  • Desktop/Laptop Software
  • General Adobe Acrobat Reader Help
  • Commenting in PDFs with Adobe Acrobat Reader
  • Print multiple pages per sheet with Adobe Acrobat Reader

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prefer CFF, CFE, or CRFAC
  • Experience teaching in Canvas and/or other Learning Management System
  • Teaching experience
