About the Role:

As a Public Health Preparedness District 3 Coordinator, you will be the key point of contact for local health departments in your district, helping them achieve the Indiana Department of Health’s (IDOH) emergency preparedness goals. This role involves working closely with healthcare and public safety partners, identifying preparedness gaps, and supporting collaboration efforts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the main contact for local health departments within District 3 (Allen, Whitley, Miami, Wabash, Huntington, Wells, Adams, Noble, Dekalb, LaGrange, and Steuben counties).
  • Communicate with your Regional Supervisor about the needs, challenges, and successes of the health departments.
  • Attend meetings, including District Coalition meetings, and help coordinate healthcare collaboration efforts.
  • Track progress, collect data, and submit reports on grant deliverables.
  • Assist with planning, training, and emergency preparedness exercises.
  • Coordinate Medical Countermeasure (MCM) readiness reviews when needed.

Essential Skills:

  • Experience in Emergency Preparedness, Public Health, or Public Safety.
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Experience managing and facilitating meetings with local health partners.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize in a dynamic environment.
  • Experience in grant management (preferred).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Public Safety, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Familiarity with IDOH Emergency Preparedness policies and procedures.
