JOB DESCRIPTION

The Process Technician is responsible for the startup, shut down and troubleshooting of the molding process during production runs. This position is responsible for the start-up, shut down, and troubleshooting of the molding process during normal production runs. In addition, the setup of injection molding machines and all related equipment to allow the manufacture of product that meets or exceeds the established quality levels at the standard rates that have been established.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and improve accuracy of the injection molding machines and processes.
  • Resolve work problems and recommend measures to improve productivity and product quality.
  • Assist with new mold samples and assist in the creation of full documentation on all processing parameters.
  • Meets with the Shift Supervisor and other Process Technicians to discuss all issues relating to the shop floor.
  • Train set up technicians as assigned to ensure that the set-ups being performed are done properly, in a safe manner, as well as a timely manner.
  • Follow all departmental operational procedures relating to the set-up, operation, and shut down of jobs.
  • Perform special duties and or projects as assigned. Operate the machine as needed.
  • Document any and all process changes per internal procedures.
  • Analyze, recommend and implement layout and workflow improvements.
  • Estimate and calculate standard times.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.


Qualifications/Education:

  • 3 to 5 years' experience as injection molding process technician.
  • Familiar with all aspects of injection molding machines, decoupled molding techniques, and knowledge of engineering grade resins.
  • Able to setup and pull molds occasionally.
  • Experience processing in the plastics industry.
