Key Responsibilities
- Cloud Infrastructure Management: Monitor and manage cloud infrastructure, ensuring that systems are running efficiently and securely. Perform regular maintenance tasks, such as backups, updates, and patch management.
- Cost Optimization: Analyze cloud usage and expenses to identify opportunities for cost savings. Recommend and implement strategies to optimize cloud resource usage and reduce costs.
- Security and Compliance: Ensure that cloud environments comply with security policies and regulatory requirements. Implement and maintain security measures such as encryption, access controls, and monitoring.
- Cloud Migration: Assist in the planning and execution of cloud migration projects. Work with cross-functional teams to migrate applications, data, and services to the cloud with minimal disruption to operations.
- Performance Monitoring: Monitor the performance of cloud services and applications, identifying and resolving issues that could impact system availability or user experience. Use monitoring tools to track system health and performance metrics.
- Technical Support: Provide support for cloud-based applications and services, troubleshooting issues, and resolving incidents in a timely manner. Work closely with internal teams and external vendors to address technical challenges.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of cloud configurations, processes, and procedures. Ensure that all changes to the cloud environment are documented and communicated to relevant stakeholders.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on the latest cloud technologies, tools, and best practices. Identify opportunities to improve cloud services and contribute to the continuous improvement of cloud operations.
- Collaboration: Work closely with IT, development, and business teams to understand their cloud needs and provide solutions that align with organizational goals. Participate in the design and implementation of cloud-based solutions.
- Disaster Recovery: Assist in developing and testing disaster recovery plans for cloud environments. Ensure that backup and recovery processes are in place and functioning as expected.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with cloud platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP). Knowledge of cloud computing concepts, including IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS.
- Security Knowledge: Understanding of cloud security best practices and tools. Experience with identity and access management (IAM), encryption, and network security in cloud environments.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to assess cloud performance and make recommendations for improvement.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Project Management: Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks and projects simultaneously. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Adaptability: Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and cloud services as they evolve.
- Certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, or Google Certified Professional Cloud Architect.
- Experience with cloud automation and orchestration tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation.
- Prior experience in a cloud engineering or cloud support role.
