Compliance Specialist

Summary of Position:
The Quality Assurance Compliance Specialist is responsible for driving continuous improvement in the manufacturing process. This individual works collaboratively with other departments and possesses good interpersonal communication and writing skills. This position is responsible for quality related activities in planning and implementing the request changes, investigates internal and external quality concerns. This position requires understanding of manufacturing, aseptic technique, packaging and testing requirements in a GMP environment to effectively execute the changes. Find innovative ways to improve quality through new process controls. This position will report to the Food Safety Compliance Manager.

Job Specific Duties & Responsibilities:

• Provide customers with certificate of Analysis on a daily basis.
• Field any related questions for COA requests
• Track and trend all environmental results
• Manage product microbiological results that are received on spreadsheet
• Reviewing and organization of documents and document revisions
• Understanding basic scientific concepts such as pH. Mathematic skills such as taking averages and understanding minimum and maximum value ranges are required.
• The Compliance Specialist must know how to use a computer and be comfortable using MS Word and Excel.
• Collect, analyze, fulfill documentation, data communication to meet customer requirements.
• Assist in review, modify and maintain Food Safety Management System and Quality programs as needed.
• Review, evaluate and maintain suppliers /vendors documentation related to food quality and safety
• May be required to travel (10 %)

Qualifications:

• College Degree (preferably in Agriculture or related field)
• Some agricultural, food processing experience preferred
• Attention to detail for record-keeping
• Strong written communication skills
• Ability to follow directions and adapt to company changes
• Basic understanding of computers and Microsoft office software
• 1-3 years experience in Food Safety or Quality Assurance
