Engineering Project Manager

Overview:

The senior project manager will lead cross-functional product development teams from design through product launch. You will be accountable for driving the entire project lifecycle, from product definition through specification, design, coding, quality assurance, production, and launch to the world. This position involves regular communication with senior management. Cross-team coordination, project management, and executive presentation skills are essential.

The right candidate will also possess a strong project management background, will have demonstrated experience leading projects, and will have a well-rounded technical background in current technologies. RESPONSIBILITIES

Leadership:

• Lead a multi-discipline team of senior engineers (Mechanical, Electrical and Software) to accomplish project objectives
• Take ownership of the management of current and planned product development programs
• Expeditiously clear obstacles that may arise between project stakeholders, customers, and sub-contractors to maintain project momentum
• Identify and propose to management, opportunities to enhance the project management process and organizational effectiveness

Product Development:

• Work closely with sales, product management and engineering to develop Product Requirement Documents (PRD)
• Oversee generation of Technical Requirements Documents (TRD) derived from the PRD
• Generate and manage detailed project plans identifying tasks, resources, and timelines
• Identify program risks and risk mitigation plans as necessary
• Be the primary Point of Contact for customer-specific development projects
• Work closely with Procurement to meet cost, schedule, and performance requirements
• Generate project status reports for management and customer review
• Support efforts for release to production

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor s Degree or higher in Engineering (EE, ME, Mechatronics) or Technical Project Management
• Strong knowledge and experience managing multiple simultaneous product development projects from concept through design and production
• 3-5 years of product development experience
• Demonstrated track record of successful project management
• Proficiency in MS Projects, Word, Power Point and Excel
• Excellent communication and team skills
• PMP Certification a plus
• Experience with industrial torque tools a plus
