Engineering Technician II

OVERALL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Practice safe working habits and follow safety procedures, policy and Job Safety Analysis (JSA).
• Ability to work towards continuous improvement of product quality and ISO 9000.
• Work with Partners in Progress and customers on product quality, troubleshooting, optimal manufacturing processes, and corrective actions, internal and external to the company.
• Create and prepare parts and assembly drawings using Auto Cad and MBS files.
• Create and prepare erection plan drawings using Auto Cad and MBS files.
• Detail/Check building parts for correctness to help simplify the field erection process.
• Communicate with Builders, Project Coordinators, DMs, and Engineers for project clarification, and problem solving.
• Communicate with Manufacturing to assist with blueprint clarification and to help determine best practices with regard to building details.
• Use Fusion, Behlen Manifest and ECCCO systems to help process buildings to the shop.
• Perform any detailing/drafting process required to complete each project.
• Correspondence with customers related to field issues concerning plans and parts.
• Assist in determining best practices for staging, loading and shipping of finished product.
• Responsible for any other duties as assigned by Team Leader.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

• Two year degree in Drafting preferred or equivalent experience.
• Auto Cad experience.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work towards continuous improvement and development of the skills needed to perform the above job duties.
• Able to follow through on all projects/assignments and be a team player.

IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL ALSO HAVE:

• Standard steel building construction knowledge.
• Experience working with internal and external customers.
• Good shop knowledge on manufacturing practices.
• Strong desire to grow with the company by having a broad skill base.
