Position Summary

The Project Engineering Manager will oversee the collaboration between engineering disciplines third party engineering contractors suppliers and the owners engineering team Responsibilities include defining client scope coordinating the engineering team to ensure deliverables completeness supporting project engineering schedules and managing cost efficiency among all disciplines The role also entails the preparation of closeout reports and documentation transfer following plant acceptance Clear and timely project status reporting is essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and ensure successful implementation of engineering deliverables to achieve mechanical completion with zero incidents adhering to timelines and budget
  • Address technical queries from company and partner engineering teams by engaging project and site team members ensuring vendor and contractor queries are resolved
  • Develop detailed engineering plans processes and procedures for engineering teams
  • Monitor timely completion of engineering deliverables with partners and manage review cycles
  • Control manhour consumption within budget and ensure Management of Change protocols are followed
  • Prepare monthly progress reports for review by the Project Manager before sharing with stakeholders
  • Keep supervisors informed on project activities and ensure lessons learned from past projects are documented to prevent repetition
  • Ensure adherence to engineering standards in specifications prepared by partners
  • Oversee the review of engineering deliverables and ensure quality is maintained within scheduled timelines
  • Conduct weekly discussions with Project and Site team members about progress and concerns
  • Engage with partners regularly for lead talks biweekly updates and project steering meetings
  • Attend pre-bid meetings kickoff meetings and other relevant progress review sessions
  • Lead on fit-for-purpose engineering with various teams and participate in risk review sessions for identification and mitigation of risks

Experience Requirements

Minimum of 10 years of experience in capital projects is required with a preference for candidates having experience in project management and/or project engineering within the Circular and Low Carbon Solutions business This role will also involve the retrofit and repurposing of existing assets.

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a related technical field 4-year level
  • PMP certification preferred

Work Experience

  • At least 10 years of experience with large or mega projects in the chemical process industry or a related field
  • General knowledge of all PMP stage-gated phases of engineering and construction
  • TWIC card required due to work location along the Houston Ship Channel
