Position Summary

The Data Analyst provides support for our comprehensive data and information system, leveraging technology to automate, streamline, and integrate information to foster a data-driven culture and maximize the use of our data. This role manages our information systems and tools to deliver repeatable, accurate, and credible data insights and visualizations through high-quality reports and dashboards that inform business, communication, and fundraising decisions.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

Data Analysis and Visualization

  • Develop, administer, and deploy the organization’s data and analytics systems, projects, and visualization tools, ensuring that the systems are functioning as required to deliver necessary insights
  • Create, maintain, validate, and generate accurate and consistent reports, visualizations, and ad-hoc analyses that inform decisions and evaluate outcomes
  • Transform raw data into actionable and meaningful insights to aid in data-driven decision making
  • Identify, analyze, research, and interpret trends or patterns within complex data sets to provide recommendations and communicate findings effectively to non-technical end-users

Data Management

  • Identify, retrieve, query, and append data from internal and external data sources
  • Document and maintain information and processes to ensure consistent, repeatable analysis and insights
  • Perform data storage management, including consistent backups and regular updates
  • Oversee and conduct data validation to ensure integrity of data mappings and integrations
  • Assist in researching and implementing automation processes and tools related to data management.

Education and Previous Experience

Associate or bachelor’s degree is preferred but not required. At least three years of professional experience in related field (such as data analytics, database administration, data visualization, information technology and systems, or report management) is required.

Qualified individuals will possess the following:

  • Demonstrated curiosity and analytic ability to organize information and identify patterns, trends, and relationships in complex data sets
  • Ability to maintain current and accurate knowledge of data storage and management best practices
  • Ability to anticipate or understand the needs of a data request and translate that into deliverables.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to identify and resolve production and/or applications development problems related to the use of the data management system software or utilities in a low code/no code environment
  • A high level of interpersonal skills, both in person and by phone, to handle sensitive and confidential situations with varied internal and external constituencies
  • Customer service skills requiring clear communication in person, on the phone, and in writing are essential
  • A high level of integrity, including ability to treat confidential information with discretion.
  • Ability to be organized and resourceful to locate and compile information and accomplish projects with minimal supervision.
  • Consistent attention to detail in composing and proofing materials, establishing priorities, and meeting deadlines.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to juggle multiple competing tasks and demands.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a collaborative team environment with professional demeanor, self-reliance, and resourcefulness.

Typical Physical Demands

Requires sitting, standing, bending, reaching, and some lifting. Requires manual dexterity sufficient to operate standard office machines such as computers, fax machines, calculators, the telephone, and other office and/or clerical equipment. Requires normal range of hearing and vision.
