Job Description

Primary Responsibility:
The Windows Admin supports and maintains the Windows and VMware environment and will report to the Windows Lead. Primarily responsible for the Windows/VMware platform management, configuration, design, training, and expertise. Microsoft platforms will include Active Directory, DNS, as well as Windows servers of various flavors.

Responsible for deploying the release of new technologies as well as the design, installation, configuration, maintenance and system integration testing and performance of Windows server operating systems, related utilities, and hardware.

The Windows Admin is required to take ownership of issues through to resolution and be a good team player to work with other departments/teams. Is expected to provide excellent communication and customer service to all areas of the business.
Job Scope:
  • Experience configuring, managing, and supporting Windows Server 2012, 2016, 2019, and 2022 installation, deployment, troubleshooting and automation.
  • Installation and configuration of hosts ESXi/vSphere, Virtual Center, and virtual machines creation.
  • Thorough understanding and ability to create processes and procedures.
  • Capable of providing technical guidance and knowledge sharing.
  • Experienced in patch management and change control.
  • Perform authoritative and non-authoritative restore operations.
  • Manage, diagnose and resolve issues related to AD.
  • Configure automatic updates for network clients by using Group Policy.
  • Monitor ticketing system for new tickets and work items as well as update existing tickets.
  • Troubleshoot server hardware and software issues and escalate accordingly.
  • Daily monitoring of servers which include Domain controllers, Application servers, and VMWare environment.
  • Monitor and manage backups and restorations.
  • VDI experience preferred.
  • Experience with legacy operating systems preferred.
  • Knowledge of TCP/IP and related protocols (e.g., SSL, DNS, DHCP, SNMP, etc.)
  • Maintaining Documentation & IT Inventory.
Education/ Experience:
  • 5+ years Windows Administration experience
  • PowerShell experience desired
Communication:
  • Communicates equally effectively with all organizational levels.
  • Excellent technical writing skills
