Software Engineering Manager

Role:

• Manage engineering teams and own accountability for the design and code quality of components, applications, solutions and systems.
• Lead, support and grow multiple project scrum teams, consisting of Software Developers, QAs, and PMs.
• Create technical vision and strategy for assigned project teams in alignment with the organization s business objectives.
• Translate business problems into functional work estimates with interdependencies across project teams for current and future projects.
• Partner with solution owner to build solution roadmap.
• Anticipate strategic and scaling-related challenges through short-term planning.
• Propose and lead process improvement projects within and outside current scope.
• Demonstrate broad thought leadership and influence through sharing knowledge outside team through mentorship, coaching, technical talks and blogs.
• Lead, direct and review the team s work to achieve operational or functional targets or objectives with measurable contribution towards the achievement of immediate and short-term results for the team and department.
• Establish and communicate team goals that support and advance team and department objectives; establish metrics or other performance measures to track progress.
• Understand and explain policies, practices and procedures within immediate area of responsibility to stakeholders within and outside of the team.
• Identify, propose and lead team- and department-level quality and process improvement initiatives; participate and provide input on strategic initiatives at the department-level.
• Deliver consistent and timely training, guidance and feedback to encourage and promote associate success and growth through regular developmental conversations and identification of developmental opportunities.
• Provide primary input and recommendations on staffing and performance decisions for direct reports.
• Expert knowledge of Core Java, Microservices, Spring Boot, Mainframe, SQL, etc.
• Extensive experience leading Software Engineering teams, and proven experience delivering multiple projects in an enterprise environment.
• Health care experience is a must
• Plus for PBM (Pharmacy Benefits Management) knowledge
• Bachelor s Degree in Computer Science or related
