Job Summary

This is a hybrid role in Atlanta, GA where the candidate must be located, or able to relocate if an offer is extended. The role manages all aspects of Import/Export compliance program and activities; developing, enhancing and oversight. Manage 3rd party providers: Customs Brokers.

Responsible for leading the Compliance team across all aspects of import and export compliance programs, including liaising with government officials, vendors, service providers and internal stakeholders. End to end ownership of a "Best-in-class" HDS import/export compliance program including development, enhancement, and oversight. Responsible for leading, training, developing and coaching a strong bench of talent, supporting associate and knowledge retention within the organization.

Major Tasks, Responsibilities, and Key Accountabilities

  • Recruits, trains, develops and coaches a team of compliance associates. Drives associate knowledge retention within the organization.
  • Serves as a subject matter expert in trade and customs compliance, Customs and Border Protection (CBP) audits, CTPAT certification and HTS product classification.
  • Remains up to date on Export Administration Regulations (EAR), U.S. import regulations (10+2, Lacey Act, etc.), Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) and communicates regulatory changes. Assesses and communicates organizational impact to internal stakeholders on a regular basis.
  • Evaluates HDS overall compliance program to regulations. Implements corrective action as well as ongoing improvements based on risk levels and regulatory changes.
  • Partners with internal and external teams to resolve deficiencies. Communicates risk to leadership on a regular basis while serving as the primary contact for the US Customs Ace Portal.
  • Oversees Customs Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (CTPAT) annual profile refresh as well as compliance to audit requirements of the program.
  • Leads internal efforts to minimize dutiable value related to company imports. Reviews team analytics and suggests improvements regarding company US Customs data entry, ISF data and export clearance.
