Bluemont Group is seeking an experienced accounting professional to lead the accounting team and take ownership of the company’s GAAP accounting. The ideal candidate will have proven industry experience as an accountant, preferably in a senior role. As a strong communicator and skilled financial analyst, the Controller will make it their mission to streamline our budgeting, payroll, and financial reporting processes. The Controller will be responsible for producing financial reports for senior management to help improve operational efficiency and continued growth at the Bluemont Group companies.

Responsibilities

· Manage and support accounting team with dynamic leadership that creates an environment of trust and productivity.

· Oversee and monitor all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems ensuring compliance with appropriate GAAP standards and regulatory requirements as well as the requirements of private contributions, and loans.

· Manage reporting for organizational budgets and actual expenditures.

· In conjunction with the CFO, establish financial and operating benchmarks, budgets, program monitoring, and reporting standards

· Implement consistent accounting policies, practices, and procedures across all programs, upholding federal, state, and local legal standards by remaining knowledgeable about existing, new, and future legislation.

· Develop and enforce internal controls to maximize protection of company assets, policies, procedures, and workflow.

· Provide comprehensive financial updates to senior management by evaluating, analyzing, and reporting appropriate data points.

· Overseeing sales tax, property tax, 1099’s, and other filings reporting as needed, or required, at the federal, state, and local level.

· Guide financial decisions by applying current company policies and procedures to current economic landscape.

· Achieve budgeting goals with proper scheduling, analysis, and corrective action.

Qualifications

· Experience leading and building successful teams through development and performance management

· College level degree with major or minor in accounting,

· 10+ years proven accounting experience as well as 5+ years’ experience as a senior-level accounting or finance manager.

· Working knowledge of finance and regulatory standards (GAAP).

· Strong understanding of banking and treasury processes.

· 3+ years of experience with accounting duties in a multi-entity environment.

· Proficient in Microsoft Office package including Word and Excel.

· Demonstrated skill with enterprise level accounting software, Sage Intacct preferred
